About Family Business Review

Published continuously as a refereed journal since 1988, Family Business Review (FBR) is the premier scholarly publication dedicated to the study of family-controlled enterprises—from global corporations to smaller, privately held firms. FBR explores the full lifecycle of family enterprise, examining not only entrepreneurial founding generations but also second-, third-, and later-generation businesses, including some of the oldest continuously operating companies in the world. The journal also features interdisciplinary research on families of wealth, family foundations, and family offices.

Published by SAGE, FBR holds a 5-year impact factor of 8.8 and is ranked 39 out of 316 journals in Business, according to the 2024 Journal Citation Reports® (Clarivate).
