Global Education Network (GEN)

Family enterprise is a dynamic, rapidly evolving universe. Keeping pace with its numerous innovations and opportunities requires continuing, specialized education.

The FFI Global Education Network (GEN) is the most trusted and globally recognized provider of family enterprise professional education in the world. Through unparalleled interaction with internationally renowned faculty, thought leaders, and a global network of other specialists, FFI GEN students hone their thinking and develop their skills to better serve their clients and to further the field of family enterprise. FFI GEN Certificates in Family Business Advising and Family Wealth Advising are the product of more than 30 years of practice and research in the field. These certificate programs are unique in that they provide students with trusted, time-tested knowledge and skill development using a multidisciplinary approach in a convenient online format. Take your skills to the next level by taking an online course or earning a certificate in family business advising or family wealth advising.

“It is critical for family business to have a third party perspective looking at how their family is doing and not just how the business is doing. Especially since today’s technology can create a global company almost immediately. Technology lingo has become the new common language.

We want to have more FFI advisers with GEN certificates in this part of the world.”

“As learning and sharing organization, FFI is just extraordinary. You have to go to one of its meetings to understand the generosity with which the members share their experiences and perspectives.

Family Business Review (FBR)

Family Business Review (FBR), was the first scholarly journal in the field and continues to shape the future as a top ranked journal in business.

Published by SAGE, FBR is devoted exclusively to exploration of the dynamics of family-controlled enterprise, including firms ranging in size from the very large to the relatively small. FBR is focused not only on the entrepreneurial founding generation, but also on family enterprises in the 2nd and 3rd generation and beyond, including some of the oldest companies in the world. In addition, the journal publishes interdisciplinary research on families of wealth, family foundations and offices.

“FFI has been on the forefront of formalizing the view of family enterprise from an academic standpoint — formalizing the viewpoint that family businesses are different. They have put structure and professionalism to a field that really had none.

FFI has changed how I viewed our business and our family.”
