Conflict Resolution in Family Businesses

Family members in business together typically try to avoid conflict. Conflict occurs when people have different views, opinions, and perspectives. These differences can be healthy, for without them, people would all think the same. We believe that the goal in business ought not be to avoid conflict, but rather, to learn to manage it.  In this highly interactive presentation, David Karofsky will explore the topics of conflict that family businesses face, their causes, and best practices for effective solutions. Discussions will include generational differences, roles and responsibilities, “letting go” and “taking hold,” succession planning, communication styles, and active listening.
