About the Presenters:


Amelia Renkert-Thomas, Joint Managing Director, Withers Consulting Group LLC

Amelia (Amy) Renkert-Thomas co-founded Withers Consulting Group, a global consultancy working with family enterprises – businesses, family offices, trusts, private trust companies, and foundations – to help them achieve their vision of success. WCG specializes in governance and succession planning, bringing together technical expertise, multi-disciplinary training and extensive experience in governance design, business operations and strategy, family systems and organizational development.


Prior to developing her consulting practice, Amy was a Partner at the international law firm Withers Bergman LLP, where she co-chaired the firm’s Family Office Group.


Amy comes from multi-generational businesses on both sides of her family, and brings the lessons learned over more than 150 years of family business and investing to her own work with clients.


Succeeding her father, Amy served as President and CEO of Ironrock, Inc., a 5th generation family-owned and -managed producer of ceramic tile and thin brick located in Canton, Ohio, from 1990 to 2002. She remains closely involved with Ironrock as a director and officer.Her maternal grandfather founded Fisher Price Toys.


Amy is the author of Engaged Ownership: A Handbook for Owners of Family Businesses, to be published by Wiley in January 2016. She received her B.A. from Yale College, her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and her L.L.M in Taxation from the Case Western Reserve University School of Law.



Robert C. Elliott, Vice Chairman, Market Street Trust Company 


Rob is Vice Chairman and head of Market Street's New York City office, and is actively involved with the family office community. He is responsible for client service excellence and business development in support of Market Street's strategic plan. Rob was appointed to Market Street's Board of Directors in May 2011.


Prior to joining Market Street, Rob was most recently a Senior Advisor, and previously Senior Managing Director, with Bessemer Trust. During his tenure at Bessemer, Rob oversaw client account management and business development. Rob also was formerly with the Trust Division of American Security and Trust Company in Washington, DC.


Rob received a B.A. in Political Science and a J.D. from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and the American Bar Association. Rob is Trustee Emeritus of The Foundation Center, New York City. In addition, he serves as a member of the Board of Regents of Winthrop-University Hospital, Long Island. Rob was a founding advisory faculty member of the Institute for Private Investors, New York.
