When Governance is Not Enough: What's Really Going on Behind the Money

Learn how to identify when what's behind the money is in the way of family progress, what to do about it and how to get a family you advise refocused on getting back to business. Advisors already know that families need to work together for sustaining wealth across generations and depending on the client, governance can be an asset or a challenge. Despite established structures, family communication breakdowns aren’t always immediately apparent to advisors and, with no forewarning, they can bring business and meetings to a screeching halt. During this session, attendees will engage in an interactive discussion with Dr. James Weiner and Dr. Carolyn Friend as they highlight family cases involving governance and their experiences in digging into what’s really going on behind the money. Conversations will focus on how advisors can work to establish a functional multi-generational connection that provides value and continuously evolves a high performance family.
