Implementing a Family Strategy to Build a Strong Partnership between the Board, Management, and Family
Many families don’t realize the
impact on board, management, or overall operations of a business (either
negative or positive) because they don’t see themselves as partners who can
affect business performance.
Meghan Juday will talk about
how she has worked with her own family and other family businesses to implement
a family strategy to ensure that the family is the best possible partner with
the board and management and has the right programs in place to become better
stewards as the business grows.
Meghan Juday, owner of Family Business Strategy Group, has been involved
on the Family Council for IDEAL Industries for 20 years, and the Family Council Chair for the last 10 years. She consults with family businesses to help them
develop a Family Strategy, and implement a governance model that can execute

background comes from working as a Business Analyst and Project Manager at CSC
as well as being a next generation leader of the IDEAL INDUSTRIES family. Her
consulting with diverse clients, both in the private and public sectors, has
been invaluable for developing a methodology for achieving maximum buy-in and
implementing change in an organization.
For the past
10 years, Meghan has been the IDEAL Family Council Chair and a director on the
IDEAL INDUSTRIES board of directors, a primarily independent board. Meghan has
worked closely with the Loyola Family Business Center (LFBC) as a participant
in a focus group to define and develop the Family Business Stewardship
Meghan was one of the first graduates of the
Family Business Stewardship Institute at the LFBC. Meghan has a BA from St.
John's College in Santa Fe, NM where she graduated in 1994 with a concentration
in Mathematics and Philosophy.
