Dr. James Weiner, Co-Founder of Inheriting Wisdom
As co-founder of Inheriting
Wisdom, a specialty-consulting firm focused on the concerns of families that
own businesses, invest collectively or make a concerted effort to give back to
the world, Dr. James Weiner knows that a family’s clear vision and effective
strategy are driven by human capital. His unique expertise is dealing
with the inherent human issues that arise in affluent families. Dr.
Weiner’s over thirty-five years of professional experience give him the
knowledge to understand individuals, work with families and know what drives
both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
He is the co-author of The
Legacy Conversation, a book designed to inspire families to have meaningful
dialogues about the impact of money and the importance of sharing what matters.
He has written numerous articles and speaks frequently on this topic. Dr.
James Weiner is a clinical psychologist and holds the Family Business Advising
and the Family Wealth Advising certificates from Family Firm Institute (a
worldwide membership association for professionals serving the family enterprise

Jamie Deans, Executive
Director, Professionals Treatment at Promises
Jamie Deans, the founder and
Executive Director of Professionals Treatment at Promises, brings a broad range
of management, program development and outreach experience to his current position. Prior to joining Promises, he served as
Director of Communications at Talbott Recovery Campus in Atlanta and as a Case
Manager at the Hanley Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Jamie began his career in
broadcast journalism as an Emmy-winning editor and producer for ABC World News
Tonight, 20/20 and Dateline NBC. As Vice
President of Global MultiMedia Services for Morgan Stanley, he developed
editorial and video production services for the distribution of the firm’s
institutional financial analysts research.
Having supervised the build-out of one of the world’s largest video
conference networks, Jamie oversaw the real-time distribution of these products
across multiple platforms including the internet and CATV to forty six offices
in twenty three countries.
Jamie, a graduate of the Wharton School at the
University of Pennsylvania, decided in 2003 to devote his energies and
expertise to the addiction treatment field.
