We are pleased to announce that the FFI /Goodman Longevity Study, begun in 2007, has now come to a data collection close. We thank all who have supported this study by providing access to the families with whom you work. We are confident that the concepts and results in the final report will provide a valuable conversation tool with clients as well as new conceptual models for research. This study, generously underwritten by FFI member Joe Goodman, was inspired by John Ward’s original study on succession. The study aims to reframe the discussion around succession and the succession-related research which has dominated the field since its inception by approaching succession from an entrepreneurial perspective – thereby gaining new and valuable insights around the drivers of longevity in family firms. As the first study in the nexus of entrepreneurship and succession, the FFI/Goodman Longevity Study hopes to stimulate further exploration within the area. The final results of the study will be presented at the FFI Annual Conference in Chicago 2010. The STEP Project at Babson Thomas Zellweger Mattias Nordqvist Robert Nason
