FFI provides an integrated program of cross-disciplinary education among various professions, focusing within FFI’s core disciplines of behavioral sciences, financial, law and management science. Certificate Programs
Two FFI certificates are offered. They are designed to distinguish those members who have achieved significant professional knowledge. Certificate holders offer expertise of exceptional value to family business owners and family wealth clients. The Certificate in Family Business Advising was established by the FFI board of directors in October 2000 and revised in August 2009. This program benefits family enterprise advisors, consultants and their clients who advise, study or work with family enterprises by establishing knowledge standards.
This certificate is designed for members who advise or study family businesses plus consultants whose practices have begun to involve enterprising families utilizing a family office, new or potential employees at family offices, and members of private client groups for high-net worth families. SeminarsBOK SeminarsFFI's Body of Knowledge Committee has developed and evolved several advanced interdisciplinary educational offerings. These conferences and seminars, held annually or semi-annually around the globe, provide vital interdisciplinary education that enables FFI members to better serve family businesses. In order to ensure the most comprehensive offerings ongoing, FFI provides guidelines for collaborating with institutions with similar educational missions to support innovation and scholarship in the field. This course provides a broader context for issues in advising and consulting with family enterprises than is typically covered by a single, core discipline. This broader context sensitizes participants to the possible need to involve professionals from other disciplines when working with family enterprise clients. Participants will be come more aware of their own competencies and limitations as they build their practice as a family enterprise professional.
